Sunday, March 9th, people from United States are going to wake up after a shorter night sleep, as they’ll have to move forward their watches with one hour.
Europeans still have to wait until the last Sunday of March, but I can’t wait to launch a small “Daylight Savings Time” contest:
Daylight Savings Time Funny Stories
- Have you ever forgotten to adjust your clock for daylight savings time?
- Do you have a funny story to tell about that?
- Tell your story here, in the comment box below, or write it on your blog and let me know where you published it.
- You can do this starting now, until Sunday, March 9th, at 1:00 a.m.
The funniest story will earn a secret prize. You’ll have to trust me, as I don’t want to tell everybody what the winner is going to get. It’s a private issue between the two of us.
So, what are you waiting for? Spring forward with the spring from Ohio to Olongapo and give me your funny daylight savings time story.
This probably isn’t the funniest story, but I showed up for work an hour early. After rushing like crazy to try and make it on time. I wasted an hour of my day plus I felt a little silly.
Wish I could blame it on daylight savings, but I was a week late for a doctors appointment once! Thanks for posting this.. otherwise I would have forgot it was around the corner!
I never forgot that, so I don’t have any story to share, sorry!
Thank you, Emma and Susie! I suppose it’s funnier now, when you remember, than when it happened.
Hey Susie! How do you mean to attribute your lateness to Daylight Saving? Very funny. 😆
I’m afraid I’m a bit late with my submission – still adjusting to having one hour of sleep stolen from me today 😉
I was still at school, and on that Monday, forgot all about the daylight savings, was running like crazy to school, because we had a very strict security guard – old witch there – she would literally not let us into school if we were even 5 minutes late, she would stand on guard there with her long stick and wave with it at us. So you could imagine my surprise at getting to school, out of breath, 5 minutes late, and the gates are closed, couldn’t see anyone through the classroom windows… I didn’t even realize what had happened until I saw others starting to show up and cursing that they too forgot about the daylight savings.
No problem, Vivien, you submission is welcome. All people who commented on this post will get the surprise. I just have to discover where I saved it, and send it to all of you.
Hello Simmone, I received the prize you sent to me and I like it. Thank you.
You are welcome, Katir, I’m glad you liked it 🙂
