Joost is a new way of watching TV on the internet. With Joost, you can watch for free movies and shows from quite a wide selection of channels. Additional to the TV functions, Joost offers the interactivity of the internet:

– you can chat with other viewers

– you can talk to your friends in Joost’s instant messaging program (compatible with Gmail and Jabber)

– you can rate the shows while you’re watching.

Joost is now in Beta, and in order to get it, you need an invitation from another user. After you got invited, the download and install process is very simple and fast.

I tried it, and I can say that the image is good, clear, running smoothly, although my computer is slightly below the minimum reccommended configuration (448 MB RAM, instead of minimum 512 MB). The channel selection covers many areas, from music, to sci-fi, sports, documentaries and many others.

If you want to try Joost and you need an invitation, please leave a comment here (providing an e-mail address that you check), and I’ll send you one, so you can enjoy the spirit of interactive television, too.  I don’t know how many invites I have available, but I’ll send them out in the order of your comments, until they finish.
